Ok, so Ive been going through roll after roll after roll and i noticed that the number of 09 pennies I'm finding was low, very low, a month ago and now I'm half way down a box and have found ZERO 09 pennies. Was the 09 commemorative series pennies a low mintage as a whole? (as in the sum of all the different variants)

    No

They are uncommon because tens of millions were mint instead of hundreds of millions... but that's not rare.

People love Lincoln. They were and still are horded. Despite billions minted they never really circulated.

I have 16 rolls, all four of the 2009 series P & D x 2, I was on break around 2012 when I noticed the rolls on a coworkers seat, when I asked about them he said he was going to buy gas with them because he was broke, I gave him the $8 plus he borrowed another $10 which he paid back on payday, in the masonry trade for years I have seen and bought 40% and 90% coin rolls off of people who were going to buy gas, beer or cigs with them, tried to tell them what they had but most of the time they gave them up at face value.

  13. Have been searching cent bags for a year and average 26 ( 2009s ) from each bag. All four designs and both mints. More Denver then Philly. So that is 26 out of 5000 not a high percentage. Keep looking they are out there.

All of the Satin finish 2009 Bicentennial Lincoln cents had a mintage of 784,614 and this is lower than the Proof cents mintage of 2,995,615. The satin finish cents I believe were sold in the 2009 Uncirculated sets. It's unlikely there are many out there to be found in circulation. frankjg already gave you the mintage of the cents intended for circulation. In the future I believe you would get more enjoyment as others have said by looking up things for yourself.

I did actually look up the numbers, but they don't actually mean anything to me. Might as well tell me how many salmon there is in the sea. I don't know what that means to the total number of fish or the varieties or species and much less where to find them. What I do know is that there more eyes out there fishing and when I say I haven't seen any catch here, then others will tell me they got their catch and where.
