Hi all, I eyeballed this strange item sticking out of the frozen ground today. It was very dirty and just gave it a good cleaning to make out the wording and images.. What it could be? Beats me!.. Anyone seen anything like this?
The only thing I can find in Google are Perfume ads from the 1980's for Wind Song which uses the slogan "Your wind song stays on my mind" The only difference is the medallion states I Can Seem To Forget You and the ad states "I can't seem to forget you"
I remember the Wind Song Commercials . The "I Can" is too funny. Think about it "Wind... Song... Perfumes...
How about this @paddyman98 The side with "IN YOU I TRUST" is the love song for the person Jan Lynn Sokom (spelling?) who met her "forever man" in 2005. However, the opposite side with "I CAN SEEM TO FORGET YOU", "TRUST NO ONE" and the heart upside down (mixed-up emotions) suggests that she is over him and has moved on. Chris
Maybe it's from a secret admirer who has noticed you during your daily commute and has decided to drop a hint near Valentine's day. Heads Up!
I remember those commercial jingles like they were yesterday. And as I recall the perfume bottles were pretty blingy for the day. I would bet that token was part of a marketing campaign at the time. A new message each month sort of thing to keep you buying the product. Way cool token.... Though now I am stuck with that jingle in my brain.
It's a flipping coin to use if you're trying to decide if you want to break up with someone. 20 posts to go
I have the same coin! Can’t remember when or where I found it but I have been carrying it around in my wallet for YEARS! Even though I have changed my wallet several times I just move it from one to the next and never think much of it. Something made me look at it today and I decided to search about it. I agree it is likely some coin flip decision maker. I wonder how many are out there.
The really sad thing is... Each time this thread comes up, the darned Windsong jingle starts playing in my head.... And I can't make it go away!!!
Hi everyone, A friend sent me the link to this forum. I’m the artist who minted the coin. The coin is actually from an installation art work called Token Of Love, that was included in the art show Art In Odd Places in NYC, 2005. Roughly 1500 brass coins were hidden on streets in the East Village for the installation. If someone found a coin, they could take it with them. I did change the Wind Song ad. You all have the right idea about the coin. I’m glad. It is so nice to read your comments about it. I’ve done other installations using different minted coins and years later people still find them and try to figure what it’s all about. I’m curious about where and when people have found my coins and love the feedback that I get. There are a number of coins out there, all over the world, including some hidden on The Great Wall of China. Thanks for a fun discussion. Janice Lynn Sokota
