I just won this 1962-D silver Roosevelt dime at an auction today. I am going to submit it and get the conservation service done. Love the way it detached from "IN GOD WE TRUST." It will look cool with this 1959-D Lincoln with the lamination from the date...
@JCro57 It's a shame that the new "Multi-coin holder" that NGC will be using is only for bulk submissions. Maybe if you asked them real nice, they would put the pieces in one. Chris
Funny you should say that. I actually wrote them that very question. And if you ever want to sell your Kennedy missing reverse clad layer, put me high on the list.
@JCro57 Just kidding.. If you desire it then may it be yours! But only if Chris is willing to let it go
I don't think he will ever sell it. He uses it as an example here way too many times. Kind of like your handful of metal detector finds which you would never part with.
I would love to look through your whole collection. I have some fun stuff in mine, though all found through CRH. Seeing the ones you have posted here makes me imagine just what hasn't been shown. Tip of the iceberg kind of thing.
How do these lamination errors actually physically happen at the mint? I was trying to think through the process to understand how it happens exactly???
