I get it. And I like it. I appreciate honest coins as well. I was always a “blast white” guy. Since being here @CircCam and @lordmarcovan have shown me just how alluring a “circ-cam” coin can be..... Yeah, I can appreciate the street appeal that lady has.
So she looks like she’s been holding her street down, has a pocket full of bands from slanging and a Glock with a 30 round extended mag in her waistband ? Or sales are down so she has no bands and a possibly functional high point in her waistband?
True she has more eye appeal than a lot of Blast Whites I've seen, prolly AU53 or so. She actually resembles coins from a century earlier...
Where did you get this coin? It doesn't look right to me. The denticles between 4 and 6 o'clock on the reverse look like dots. The toning looks like that of a Chinese fake. I don't think this coin is legit.
Just saying it has that look. Typical chinese cast fakes look cleaned in the center with dark coloring around the rim. The reverse denticles are spaced uneven and appears that some arent even touching the rim. They made fakes 40 years ago too. The fact you think this coin has eye appeal makes me question your knowledge of coins.
Only 60 years experience. Do you really think a Chinese fake would have been put in a type set when they could have used a 21 Morgan? I have many PCGS 65 up Morgans . Thanks for your insights.
Stain at 5 o'clock. What about 6 o'clock? No staining in that area. Yet the denticles look like dots in that area. Look closely at the coin. Coin is a fake.
Yuck, why would anyone put that in a set, even if it were real? I think the fact that the gentleman has watched this coin tone over 40 years, like me with my mercs, kinda finishes the question. Chinese weren't making fakes 40 years ago.
Do you realize this type set was assembled when these type Morgans were very very cheap. Totally clean white coin when this one coin out of many in the type set, all of which are common "legit" coins. Several of the silver coins toned similarly over the decades.
