Coin was sold and they offered me another XF example in the raw (at same price) but strike or fullness of platte were not as good ...... so I turned it down.

Yes, that happens sometimes. Be patient and another coin that you really love will come up.

I would think that one must be really patient with coins like this - they become available less often. In some cases, that might lead to Auction Fever and a rush to buy - ill advised.
