oh yeah. well the OP is gonna have to take a look then from directly above.
it's like looking through my camera's fish eye lens. The world is a weird roundish convex shape glass of water.

CoinCorgi Tell your dog I said hi!

@Clawcoins I actually have no idea how these things are minted, but curved surfaces striking other curved surfaces is in my mind problematic in terms of preventing MD. Seems very isolated though so dunno.

Doing my best wishy washy Charlie Brown imitation.

Me either, though I know how to dap things/make them domed.
which I guess would be a died anvil and hammer dapping tools striking an already dapped planchet. hmmm ...

    Here’s a different angle

And this one is under natural light.

Hard to tell if it’s MD. The one possible spot is the middle serif of the “E” in “STATES.” That could be an extension of the smudge.

The more I look at it the more it appears to be a polishing mishap than grease.

looks really weird. I don't know.
Looks like weird notching above the AMER(ica)
Also, is the 2nd S in States longer due to a mishap in the left upper curve of the S ??

I'm starting to see things ...

The frosting and the mirrors are distorted. It’s really weird.
