I know you probably hate my coin, but please help point me in the right direction. What are some identifying factors I can use.

    Thanks! inCollage_20190128_195929076.jpg

I don’t know about VAMs, but I know I don’t hate that coin. Looks pretty nice to me.

Some people just don't like toners. Don't worry about it. That just means there is less competition for you.

My eyes just aren't good enough to identify the VAM from your photo. Have you researched it on VAMWorld?

@cpm9ball I have tried but the only identification I have is that its a normal date. I cant seem to find anything else to my search is narrowed to something like 40 VAM's and the last coin I did I went through 1 by one and it took forever ha i was just hoping some guru would be able to point out something that isnt so obvious to me.

For 1889, the two things to look at are the date position (near, far, normal, slanted) and Liberty's ear to see if there's doubling. There are also a few repunched dates, and pitted reverses, but not many. Due to die wear, 1889 can be a tricky beast to attribute. I'm not picking up on anything on your coin from the photo other than the normal date position, which you have already identified, and a clashed die, which may not come into play at all.
