While it may seem that way to some, all we did was tell the guy the truth. Sometimes the truth is a hard pill to swallow. But that doesn't change the fact that it is still the truth.
Wow Some good imagination to self justify two damaged coins bonded together in a variety of means that is apparently beyond one's comprehension. Good luck
I been wondering since I joined this site just exactly what the term “troll” meant. I believe I understand now.
Do you think it would be better to lie to someone and tell them it is a great find? Only to have them get excited, try to sell it and find out it is worthless? Now that would be cruel and mean.
This reminds me of a dime i found in junk silver. Its two merc obverses both dated 1942 that are fitted so perfectly i had to use my 16x loupe to see the seam. Someone put a lot of work into making it, but still no error.
Well Randy I'd have to disagree. Ya see, I believe the comments, the one(s) you are referring to, are caused by honest ignorance - not by some desire to disrupt things or cause trouble in some way. For me, that's the definition of a troll, someone who wants to disrupt things or cause trouble in some way. And while trolls definitely exist, I believe it is a term wrongfully and unfairly applied to many. And not just here.
It's true. Somebody did do this. It never left the mint that way. I had found a two headed quarter thought it was the greatest mint error. It wasn't an error some someone purposely did it.
Put your money where your mouth is!!! Summit it! That’s going to tell the truth! If it’s real you may have stubbles across a million dollar coin and if not.. well you waste some money and a little time and I assume your tail will be tucked between your legs and we will probably won’t here from you because embarrassment... 50/50 chance!! What are you going to do?
Look close at the rim. It could be what is called a magic coin. I was sorting nickels late one night and checking dates. I read the date on ones side and then turned it over. It had heads and the same date on the other side. I found that there is no way that a two headed coin could be minted. After closely looking at the rim I could see that someone had cut the outside rim of a nickel and milled the edge off another. You can imagine my amazement as I began to question if I was crazy or just dreaming. Look it up on ebay. Needless to say if you want to flip a coin I will provide a nickel. Ha Ha. Bet you have a gag coin! The General
You all realize this thread is 7 years old. Yowzers, for whatever reason, chose to respond with his rant about how jealous everyone is who posted. It's very interesting that he joined today and that was his first post.
