Something to think about is why do you care if it is an error coin in the first place? 99.9999 percent of "errors" on modern coins are absolutely meaningless and do not add any value to the change you might find.
If the idea is to learn more about coins, the minting process and to be able to have an eye trained to distinguish between errors that occur in the minting process and damage that occurs after minting, it is good to ask and read and look at many coins. I think the OP is referring to what appears to be doubling of "QUARTER DOLLAR" but I have a feeling that our experts (of which I am not one) will say that this is die doubling - machine doubling(?). I might also be seeing (but I am not sure) doubling of the mint mark.
Sorry, but what an incredibly unhelpful comment. The OP never asked about value added to the coins, she asked if they're errors. Maybe she just likes collecting them. If you don't like and collect error coins, maybe you ought to stay out of the error coin forum... As to your questions @Almanzacrunk the first coin appears to have a die crack at the top of it. It doesn't add any significant premium to the coin, because of the very circulated condition it is in, but it's still cool and I would still keep it. The second coin looks like machine doubling and is not anything significant. Here's a good read on doubling for coins: https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/5688/Double-Dies-vs-Machine-Doubling/
I really appreciate your extremely helpful and informative information. I also like the first coin because the Die crack made it look like Washington could have used a little hair gel Lol.
sorry to the OP I did not intend to make a judgement statement. I find it best to figure out what I care about coins so that I can focus my effort I like coins because I think the designs are works of art and the craftsmanship ship of the execution of those designs. I also like the history behind the dates and thinking about what happened at the time and or place in which the coin was minted. I know people collect for a variety of reasons and one is not better than another. And oh by the way this is Coin Chat...the errors forum is in a different place so I am not in that forum with my post.
Cool and I hope you find it! Have fun and ask questions. On the errors forum you can see a lot of other errors people are posting about to read up on what to look for. Also on the coin roll hunting forum (CRH) there are folks who search through thousands of rolls of cents nickels dime quarters looking for special coin of some type. I think they like the thrill of the hunt! My hunting is a bit different but it is cool when you do find a piece that has a significant (to use another poster's term) or meaningful (my term from my other post) mint error. Happy collecting!
I like die cracks too here's a few of mine. The two IHCs are actually different coins with the same die crack on the reverse at the bottom.
You could say this error found me as I did not find it! Another forum member pointed it out when I was asking if this could grade AU....
As a lover of Jefferson's it is a beautiful coin. If you are collecting it is a good start. I have several but complete sets of PD&S. Keep it and enjoy nickel collecting. I am the General.
