This coin is black only on the obverse and reverse. The rim is beautiful and shiny. The black on the coin also has a nice shiny luster. I have researched this error on my own but do not come across it often and would love to learn more about them. Below are quite a few pictures with the best lighting and quality i can offer. Thank you! S20190125_0012.jpg S20190125_0013.jpg 20190125_225959.jpg 20190125_230021.jpg S20190125_0009.jpg S20190125_0010.jpg S20190125_0011.jpg S20190125_0014.jpg

Just so I have it right in case I run across one, is the edge supposed to be clean and shiny like a regular coin or is it supposed to be cooked like the O&R?

Oh come on @Rick Stachowski! Lol. Can you vague that up just a little more? I go through boxes of Quarters, Nickels and Dimes occasionally and would love to find some of these.

    Ok .
Some will be lustier ( black ) .
Some will be coppery looking like this .

But, the rim will always look original ( red & silver ) looking .
Why ? cause when the rim gets struck, it will show the original surface ..
