Yes, it does look exactly like an “s”. Now, how did it get there?

well, every time I see the title of this and I see the word "faces" for some reason I read "feces". It perplexed me the first time I saw the post and continues to startle me each and every time.

So maybe he has already found the "mother load" ... with piles of it between the columns, protected by Martians. :)

Clearly someone made a tool steel single Die of an "S" with the same corner parameters of a "B". :artist: This is larger than a Mint Mark, so it would have to be specialty made. :pompous: Then like they did with Mint Marks, they carefully stamped the "B" in Liberty with the "S". :wideyed: This clearly was done with the intent to confuse and confound future collectors.:bucktooth: Probably martians again. :cyclops: :droid:

oh by the way, I do believe that you believe that you see an "S".
That lighting angle and slight damage just makes it picture perfect to create the visual anomaly.

either that, or the martian answer is spot on.

A little. I mostly collect error coins. I like you guys, no B.S you get right to the point and that's refreshing in today's society.

Hope the bird that spilled the gravy wasn't too big.

    But I didn't see a bird,
therefore that was 100% proof that there was no bird.
See ... kinda like coin collecting errors ...
