I just bought these on eBay. I paid maybe more than desired, considering I think the wheat cent may have a touch of verdigris and/or damage, but I’ve not seen many of these come up for sale and decided to jump on it.

I'm not trying to be nosy, but would you mind telling me how much you paid for the '57D?

    About $28 for the pair.

    Nice.

I worry about the ZLincoln since the off-center strike has stretched the copper plating and exposed the zinc core. Make it much more susceptible to humidity.

Yep. Not even sure what to do about that one. I really just wanted the wheat. That’s a bonus coin. Maybe I’ll gift it or trade it.

There has been a few posts lately with off center wheat cents being fake one is a 55 DDO. I would check it out and make sure it is real.

The 1957 is real.. No need to fake that one.
The Copper Plated Zinc is way off-Center with a nice with a Uniface Strike.
$28.00 is a fair for both.. Wheat Off-Centers are hard to find.

So why is the reverse of the Zilcoln blank? Another planchet in the way of the reverse die?

Nice 57 D off center. I collect off center wheats. I have 11 or 12 examples with dates and various mints. None from the 50s yet though.

I really like that off-center 1957-D wheat cent with the date. That coin will be worth more money down the road. I would protect that coin in an airtite from being scratched or dented.

Thanks, I thought the price was good, but when it was 4€ with 1 minute to go, I got excited that I’d buy them at a steal. Luckily, I didn’t stupidly bid low. It came close to my max bid and I was a bit worried.

I was pretty happy to see the Zlincoln was a uniface off center strike. That’s my first uniface coin, I think.

Thank you! I definitely need to find it a hard plastic home.
