These threads make me feel like I'm listening to a scratched record that keeps repeating the same thing over and over again
We Recommend: (a) Do not watch YouTube Videos, nor click bait website that tell you how to become a millionaire with pocket change (b) Purchase a Official RedBook of US Coins https://www.amazon.com/2019-Official-United-States-Coins/dp/0794845711/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1548264410&sr=8-1&keywords=2019 REd Book coins (c) and then you can learn that there are various 1982 cents, such as You're probably all excited seeing a video on YouTube or a clickbait article. But in 1982 they made all types of pennies. With "small date" versus "large date" You're probably rushing yourself not looking at the curve going into the base of the 2. Take your time. You also probably want to see something on your cents that is NOT there. and keep in mind there are all these varieties. but i'm sure you wrote it down next to you as you search from that one article 1952 – 1982 is 95% Copper and 5% Tin & Zinc; 3.11 grams 1982 – Current is 97.5% Zinc and 2.5% Copper; 2.5 grams The 7 Business Strike Varieties (8 total with the 1 rare one): LARGE DATE Philadelphia 1982 Large Date Copper 1982 Large Date Copper plated Zinc SMALL DATE Philadelphia 1982 Small Date Copper 1982 Small Date Copper plated Zinc LARGE DATE “D” - Denver 1982 D Large Date Copper 1982 D Large Date Copper plated Zinc SMALL DATE “D” - Denver 1982 D Small Date Copper plated Zinc 1982-D small date copper (1 or 2 known to exist). There is also a 1982-S Large Date which is not included because it is a PROOF.

I know people like to blame YouTube, and I agree with them a bit, but I feel like these video explain the basics of what people are looking for. I can understand people not knowing the difference between LD and SD, but that is about all I will blame on YouTube, everything else is on the people constantly making these threads. If you can’t pay enough attention to get the denomination, date, Mint Mark and, weight that’s on you, not whoever made the video.
We should make a thread to link people to of YouTube Videos that *are* a benefit to watch. I do have to add, that when I was first trying to understand the Small / Large date thing that I could not tell exactly what I was seeing until I really analyzed the different in hand of a small/large date *with* the online photos. I correlate it to going to car shows and wanting to win the top prize of authenticity and, for lack of better words, Perfectionism of everything about the car in order to win.
They made 17 billion pennies in 1982. Almost all of them are worth 1 cent. This is the 3rd post today that someone thinks they hit the jackpot. And it won't be the last. The sun is high in the sky. The 1982 Denver SMALL DATE was only made in zinc. It's true that 1 was found to be minted on a leftover copper planchet, as they transitioned in 1982 from copper to zinc. Maybe another one will be discovered one day. Your coin is a LARGE DATE 1982-D copper.
