It is the N F String and sons wrappers like the new dollars come in. It looks like he attacked it with sandpaper.

I like the second one. the coins are graded G4 in a clear tube but they are unsearched?

I may be wrong, but I don't believe when they were wrapping IHC's banks had wrap crimpers. All the older ones I've ever seen were the old tri-fold designs.

if the roll of nickles are unsearched, how does he know the dates are mixed?

He knows exactly what's in that nickel roll, AG and cull common dates is my guess. He has 4 bids so far.

This guy is like most of the Ebayers that sell any type coins from bank rolls if they are mixed dates and mixed MM. Either they take them to the bank to get them rolled with wrappers provided or they have a wrapping machine that you can buy on Ebay. They have gotten what they wanted and are selling off everything else.

I wouldn't exactly call it crafty, I'd call it decieving. Could be wrong, but that and the feedback leads me to believe that.

One other problem with these types of auctions...pile lots, grab bags, rolls, etc, is it gives seller a chance to mfg the lot to the price realized....buyer never actually sees what they are bidding on. Seller can say...ok, a $40 worth lot, or....OK, WOW, a $100 lot.......all with the same pic !!!

Remember this when bidding. Toolhaus will always even the feedback scale, along with the star rating system. High volume sellers can make feedback get burried real quick. The star system is a more accurate indicator of the sellers acuracy, buyers less prone to let seller off the hook when they can do it anomously, so a high percentage feedback MAY sometimes be misleading.

    Ways to hide bad feedback:

Method #1...shill buyer who buys a bunch of items and leaves a bunch of quick pos's to bury the neg/neutral

Method #2...reply to all feedback received, even pos...to say thank you, it hides the bad from the front page quicker

Method #3...a high number of mutual withdrawls is the most obvious

use this as you would any advise or blah blah....take it or leave it

EDIT: it just occured to me, I have a high number of repeaters from a buyer, right after a withdrawn, lol. I have nothing to hide...just a coincidence. I am slightly less crooked than most crooks. Do your own research and as always, my comments are my opinion only.

I just questioned the nickel roll seller.
Basically - how do you even know they are all V nickels. Unscrewing the top would tell him that but then they'd be unsearched.

Time to get back on the "bombard the seller with questions" routing folks. It is SO MUCH FUN!

Looks like a coin trainer wrapper after the sandpaper got down with it.

    I got an answer

Here's an update on the V nickels. First my original message.

"If your nickels are unsearched how do you know they are all V nickels?
Perhaps you should unscrew the top and take a look. Of course that would make them searched."

I loved his response. Here it is.

"I HAVE NO NEED TO EXPLAIN TO YOU, GET LOST!"

To which I replied the following.

    "WOW!

You sure told me in such an articulate manner at that. GET LOST. WOW again.

You have no need to explain to me because you can't. An unsearched roll of tubed V nickels? Yes, Santa is real too.

People watch. A lot more than you know."

I sure hope I made his day a pleasant one.
