I cracked it out for an acetone dip to remove the glue. Could probably use another soaking.

Is there a book or some sort of reference I can look for?

Picked up my first 3 Cent Nickel last weekend. Thought I was getting a Trime but looking at Redbook it seems only the earlier silver pieces were considered Trimes. Do I have that right?

Posted in other threads a while back, but not this one. Good to see a 3-Cent thread.

An 1866 AU53 and an 1869 VF25 sold at the online only session of Heritage's Long Beach auction. Both ANACS.

From the photos, I agree on the VF25... I think the AU53 is closer to XF45.

While the silver one may be smaller, it was designed by James B. Longacre, the designer of the beautiful Indian Head Cent, so it's clearly... wait... what? BOTH 3 cent pieces were designed by him? It's a tie, both are awesome coins!
