penny 1944 2,74gr

Is it possible that the 1944 no mint copper pen weigh only 2.74 grams? should not you weigh 3.11 grams?

The most common answer would be that significant wear decreased the weight of the coin

 

Either wear or corrosion could decrease the weight.

Go here and read the first and fifth post. The fifth post is by Mike Diamond. He's the expert even though you have poo-pooed his advice and words before. I would write more, but you have a history of arguing, seguing into other things and IMO not taking a good look at information we provide.

If it is steel it should be obvious, you did state copper.

 

A steel cent would weigh 2.7 grams, but I highly doubt that is what you have. Pictures are needed.

 

Perhaps because steel cents weigh less than copper and the weight is in the right range for steel, he figures it easier to declare it must be steel .

You know How Much a copper cent weighs, but you have to ask How Much a
Steel cent weighs. A 1944 steel LWC weighs the same as a 1944 Belgium 2 franc coin.

 

A simple bar magnet from the refrigerator works. Here's one of mine.
