He was referring to my post about storage buildings. And he was right on one thing, the lot was full of trash. But I just happen to get lucky with that spill and it made me stay.
After I got my rig fixed, I went out and got a half dollar (and other stuff) Photo tomorrow. 20 half dollars make a roll. That's what I have.
Very nice, can't wait to see it. I didn't get to go to the spot I had researched. The land was posted and the house that sits on the land, noone was home. I'm going back to ask Monday, it's been snowing here like crazy, maybe 4 in.
MLK Weekend Hunt. I got good signals on the rings, but I think it's because the batteries are fresh and they are plated over copper. Happy with the half dollar. The nickel is 1951-D.
Considering the ground was almost frozen and it was a low gas expense local hunt, I was pleased with the results. The wheatie is a mangled 1952-D.
I just finished my hunt, wasn't very good but I had a nice time out. After all that cold it was a nice day.ill post some pics later,I'm still out.
That was a good hunt Mike, I have to get a better machine this one is just not cutting it. I'm missing a lot of stuff and I want to keep these sites clean.I've been looking everywhere for a good machine for a decent price and I just can't find one. But I'll get lucky and want to come my way I just have to be patient.
Yeah I was sick all week. I told my GF I don't care I am going out. They will have to take the detector out of my cold dead hand. I was feeling better today, about 90%. As for the hunt I used more gas in this one, 50% of my swag take. However I went to a far spot at the end which I knew was going to be a beat, or it would have been almost 2/3 1/3 gas.
This is my 2nd wheat penny ever! There was a young head to. I think if I had a better machine I would have pulled more from this spot. But I'm happy to just get out.
Plenty of dimes. Every time you pull a dime, that's much better than digging 10 zinc cents. I usually let some zincs go if they are buried. If it's copper, it can be anything.
That is something! I've found I think 3 the whole time I've been digging. One of them was in the hole with a buried soda can. I'm still learning everyday and I'm getting close I think.
I'm out right now and do I have something beautiful to show you later. My first silver coin and it's a beautiful piece.
This is my 1963 UN PESO. Dug this piece up today in Buffalo WV. When I started out metal detecting this is the type of thing I was after. Sometimes when I'm out there digging nothing but trash all day, this is what keeps me digging. HH all!!
10% silver, but it still counts. Nice one. A keeper for sure. 90% brass, but: The exact composition of those coins is .700 Copper, .100 Nickel, .100 Zinc and .100 Silver. I dug up a peso from 1980. It was so beat up looking I thought it was ancient.
