I found this 1922 Peace Dolar with a die gouge on the reverse side right of the leaves. Is there a VAM for this?

Nice image! That's not a die gouge. It's a clash mark. Unfortunately it's very common. If you look at the obverse of the coin, you can line up the high spot with the clashed area on the reverse. There's a good explanation here for Morgans. Same applies for Peace dollars.

Thanks, I was'nt really thinking clash marks when I was looking at the coin. I bought 10 of these peace dollars several years ago for 13 dollars each. Three of them have this clash mark and all of them grade MS 60 or better.

Are they all 1922-P's? 13 of the" Top 50" Peace dollars are 1922-P's. Did you check them all out?

No I have not looked at all of them, but I will when I get a chance.

1922 Peace Dollar Maybe VAM Pic 2.jpg I posted same question about my 1922 P. I looked at vam world can't find it. My Buddie just pulled a 1922 12A mustache UNC for $36 for local shop. Right in front of me I am very happy for him. I was hoping this was a new VAM.
