Tell me what you guys/gals think about this 1910-D (St Gaudens) Eagle. Do you think it'll grade AU-55/58 or is relegated to low AU material. I suspect it's been in circulation and have checked the weight which is pretty close to spot on at just a shade over 16.7 grams.

    Thanks for looking

Luster looks good enough to go 58, and frankly, I've seen much less attractive examples in 62/63 plastic.

I think she will push an MS-60.
There's a little wear on the wings near the head on the rev.
But like Leadfoot said, I've seen much worse in holders with higher grades.

It looks like a pleasing AU53-55 to me. There appears to be light wear on the Indian's face and jaw, in particular.

Appears to have some light wear on the tips of the hair, and some on the eagle on the reverse. But, a very attractive coin I must say, wow Bone. :thumb: AU-55/AU-58 is my guess. Thanks for sharing. :thumb:

On my 0-0 number grading system, it gets a high AU. (I wouldn't even bother saying anything, but its too nice a coin to not comment on!)

Thanks for the kind words. This was a gift from my little brother who also collects and he also owed me some money I'd (ahem) loaned him a few months ago but that's another story, LOL...

Great looking coin, but with the contact marks I wou have to say low Au.

After further review, I would like to change my answer. :D

I'm in the AU camp now.

Still an attractive example regardless of grade.

Very nice Bone! I give it an AU55. I feel that it really only has the one moderate hit by the tail against it...and a couple of minor ones. Most of the "fuzzy" marks on it are made more prevalent by the enlarged image. I wish my brother'd give me one!

I paid all the home-insurance and taxes on our farm down in Texas. We own it together after my mom recently passed away. He owed me BIG-TIME and even considering this he still owes me BLOOD, LOL...

Nice coin! I really am uncertain about gold, but looks a solid AU to me.

AU-50, AU-53. There seems a bit too much wear on the eagle, particularily the lack of any detail in feathers above eagles left talon. I'd still like to have it though.
