This is my oldest dated coin, not counting ancients, dated 1561. I bought it from an ad in Coin World about 1963, when I was Noah's age, so I have owned it 12% of its existence. Elizabeth I, 19mm, so I believe it is a three pence. IMG_9233.JPG IMG_9234.JPG !

I thought I would post a photo of an Error Coin I saw on Ebay. You don't see many Buffalo Nickel errors like this.

    I pick the Silver Eagle.

Oldest Coin? 1830 Half Dime. Worn really bad!!!

My oldest coin is an 1803 Half Cent. A 1700’s coin will hopefully happen at some point.

What is around the bison’s hooves on this design? Distant mountains/hills? Just the ground? For all the buffalo nickels I’ve owned, it took this hammered AU for me to notice them.

It's generally referred to as "raised mound". That one really does have a nice strike.

    Here's my 1913 Type 1 (PCGS MS65).

    Love that 65.

...yeah I had definitely seen the mound, I was referring to the background stuff around the top of it.

Entry post. The 2019 silver dollar looks a bit tasty, should I be fortunate enough...

My oldest dated coin is a Polish 3 polker from 1621, KM#41, although I don't have a photo to hand.

I have, over time, found out how to make a small fortune collecting coins. Start with a large one. ;)

This 1887 double florin represents two things:

    (1) the most pleasing coin I've ever bought on ebay (not the most expensive, not the rarest, just the one I look back on and think "yeah :joyful:").
    (2) the best photo I've ever managed to take of a coin. I don't have any special equipment.

    Double florin 1887 (4).jpg

Good luck to all entrants and thanks Lord & Noah for their generosity.

    Pickup at the Summer ANA.

Says cleaning, but certainly not harsh, and the price was great.

    Oldest coin?

Well, for US: my 1795 Draped bust $1/2.
Love that date, I just wish I had a lot more of them.
Oops, I hope this is okay, I just saw that I already entered.

    Sorry
