Hello everyone. I have been actively reading the postings here for a couple of months now but this is my first thread. I have a question regarding the Jefferson Coin and Currency set in my collection. In my set is the 1976 $2 bill, but it is a star note. C 00625264 *. Is it a common occurrence for a star note to be included in those sets? Any info on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

There were only a small percentage of sets that had the star note...... however they don't add much premium to the set.

Was it you @paddyman98 that has the website for checking fancy serial numbers or was it @SteveInTampa ? I can't seem to find my bookmark on it.

I do believe they all were C notes, Federal Reserve Bank Philladelpha Pa.

Plus the second lowest Jefferson nickels only 167,703 minted in Matte finish 1994 Jefferson.
Followed by another 5 cent coin with a low mintage the 1997 Matte Jeffereson nickel 25,000 mintage.

Paddy54, my $2 star note discussed earlier actually says it is from Fed Reserve in Philadelphia. Jussaying

Yes the matte 1994 nickel is really nice, full step with no nicks. Gonna work on picking up the 1997 set as well.
