Thanks! I had completely forgotten about that auction, with all the exciting things happening in NY. I was doing my weights and remembered that I had sent in 2 proxy bids around early December. So, I went to the salesroom auction site, and noted my bids were still winning. I ended up winning that coin, and a super rare one (4 known) from Cunobelinus. So far I got 2 1700s AV coins and 3 ancients= 3-2 for ancients. With me selling my banknote collection, I will have an extra 60K for coins. My goal for 2019 is to have a really great year for coins. I will post the second coin tomorrow.
Very nice coin. I’ve got a pre-Roman British coin on my wish list for this year. I have several antiquities (fibulae and seals) from the ruins of Roman Verulamium.
You should check out Chris Rudd e-auctions. They have one on sixbid every couple of months. They are super nice to deal with, and coins are guaranteed 100 percent genuine. John
