1988 D HALF DOLLAR?

    Looks as if the initials on obverse is not all there. Not sure.

    That would be the designer's initials, "FG" (on the reverse) for Frank Gasparro who was the Chief Engraver at the US Mint.

    It appears that your specimen has been damaged.
