It's been a bit dry for me, especially when it comes to fallen horseman coins. I did manage to win a couple coins I've wanted for a while (more on the budget friendly side too). Paphlagonia. Sinope circa 85-65 BC. Seleukid Kingdom. Antioch on the Orontes. Demetrios I Soter 162-150 BC. Drachm AR
Here’s hoping your dry spell will soon be over, Randy. But those are a couple of nice captures in the interim.
Sometimes we all have dry spells. It causes me to get tempted by stuff I'm not focussing on. I always tell myself not to but end up giving in to temptation. Nice coins. I would have been temped by them too.
Sometimes that is how we start on yet another specialty. Collecting is hard when you go for long periods and see nothing you 'need'. Before everything became so specialized (and licensed), hunters did not hunt deer or bear or squirrel. They hunted supper. If a nice coin crosses your path and begs to be collected, maybe the right thing to do is cooperate.
TEMPTATION! TEMPTATION! I'm trying very very hard not to give in, but it's been so long since I last bought a coin and I need a fix!
Nice coins @randygeki - My first purchases this year (hopefully) will come from the Frank Robinson auction closing next Tuesday (the 15th). I've got a few bids in and so far I am the high bidder on the lots. We'll see what happens.
Thanks all I did have a few solid bids on some FH, or at least thought I did since I missed out on them, but there are plenty on em at least.
Been a crazy start to the year on many fronts. @randygeki - I'm not sure if mere effort is enough to avoid the apocalypse
