Hey all i found this awile back and believe it is a dd ,but just wanted opinons.forehead, nose and lip you can clearly see and on reverse some sort of clash going from I to D in united thanks
Meow is pretty sure the thing on the Reverse is a die crack. The obverse? Hmm, Meow is not sure what to make of that.
Ty meow for response, thought it was a good find,i noticed some heavy built up material on letters as well like in and tr in trust
That is pretty common with quarters of the era. Many are poorly struck, with signs of decent die deterioration.
Yeah i have a tough time with older quarters and pennies from what u said poorly struck..makes it hard to idenify anything
Have you not heard of Cat breading? Meow learned of it from an episode of South Park. And not to worry, Meow talks to Meowself all the time. Now when you start to argue with yourself, you might have a problem.
Lol yeah well i probally have a problem haha, still trying to figure stuff out on here, like deleting posts..cat breading thats funny
The obverse exhibits Machine Doubling. In this scenario, it's nicknamed "profile doubling." The device/s (in this case, the portrait) are reduced in size and show flat shelflike doubling. The reverse has a die crack.
So as far as the portrait goes would u say this is common/normal to this extent..you can see this without magnification.
I read up on profile doubling appreciate the info ,i couldnt find anything on portrait when i was looking..i understand now.
