1973 Lincoln penny with an extra letter Y, under the D in the word God

    I found this penny while going through some old change that was left over from my moms house. I noticed it had an extra Y on it, underneath the D in the word God. Was wondering if anyone could give me any thoughts about it, and if it might be worth anything?

    Before posting your photo, crop out all of the unnecessary background, then, resize the image. I can't see a thing from those photos.

    Just looks like damage to me like it was stamped there by someone as it looks incused (goes into the cent).

    Looks like a Y but it's not. It's damaged. You can see a gouge and some of the metal is pushed up.
