okay guys so bear with me here. So I know I’m fairly smart but this coin has me completely baffled. Hopefully someone can help me out. So I acquired this coin a few years back while working at a gas station. Now I took interest in this coin because it looked way totally fake, I’d never seen one look like that so I grabbed it up. Well needless to say I am messing in my coins today and I come across it. Well this is where I get confused. This SBA is made from silver. I did the tissue test, the sound test etc. BUT no where online can I find a SILVER SBA. Someone help me and let me know if I’m really insane D8A9BA60-1C9E-4C0E-9A96-E4800757BE9B.jpeg 864EA207-3612-4C5F-A0CD-F5278C371759.jpeg

    Impaired proof?
A proof coin that was released into circulation.
But I'm not sure if they made silver proofs.

I’ve not seen anything online about any being made in silver yet this one is ‍♀️

Then it could be silver plated.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

    Most likely silver plated.
Some companies did that and hyped them as collectibles.
None were ever worth more than face value.

Thank you both. I just needed to be sure I wasn’t going insane.

Best thing to do, weigh it. Silver weighs more than clad...oh, BTW, can you see copper on the edge?

No I don’t see any copper at all. Thats the thing making me the craziest.

It looks silver plated. SBA's were not made of silver.
