Hello All, Sorry if this question has been asked before. I usually get single rolls of coins from the bank 3 to 5 dollars worth a week. I see in the forums that people buy boxes of coins from the banks. How much is a box of Lincolns Cents? Is there a special term to use when you ask the bank for a box of coins? Thanks for the info.
Coin roll searching One (1) box of coinage equals: $25 Pennies ($.50/roll - 50 rolls) $100 Nickels ($2/roll - 50 rolls) $250 Dimes ($5/roll - 50 rolls) $500 Quarters ($10/roll - 50 rolls) $500 Halves ($10/roll - 50 rolls) Banks usually don't have that many in-stock. Most collectors will suggest you buy what they do have in the vault or have them order you a box. $1,250 Dollars ($25/roll - 50 rolls) Searching through rolls is pretty fun. I've just recently started doing it. Have found a few things but nothing that fantastic. I've started with small cents (Lincolns) simply because it's the cheapest option at the moment. Of the $25.00 investment I usually cash-in about $21.00-$24.50 worth. There are a few places I get my coinage from: Credit Unions Local "small" banks - senior citizens are loyal. Banks which has been established for more then 25 years in the same location - I love thinking about the treasures they may have sitting in their vault. I've been taking my coinage to my girlfriend's bank a few towns over and they always seem to accept them. I usually end up re-wrapping them in my own coin wrappers. Most of the time someone's account number is written on them. Then marking them with sharpie so I don't bother searching the same rolls again. Have fun.
