This 1843-O Dime was one I was not expecting to find.
This is a scarce coin, specially in grades above Fine.
It came out of the blue. I did not hesitate.

I am always drawn to any seated 1840's US coinage especially if it has a mint mark. Any specimens that is in decent shape and reasonable price is a good buy.

I like them too. I have my eyes out for a decent 1845-O and 1849-O.

This one was totally of the norm. While it is gold, it's not U.S. mint-made, and thus the only foreign coin I own. I really dig the eagle/snake & Aztec calendar designs of this denomination.

This would be mine. I am not an errors guy. Just an old fashioned US type coins fellow. This old Real intrigued me because it was 18th century and is a very clear 1778/1777 overstrike. Yes it is damaged but it was very affordable and very cool to me. Way way out of my comfort zone and certainly qualifies for my unusual purchase for the year.

I also bought a Henry VI groat recently, and I think in 2018. To narrow down the date a bit, yours appears to be S-1877 (Spink catalog number), struck in 1431-32 in Calais with "cross fleury" mint mark.

OH MY, that is BEAUTIFUL! Where did you find that? And in very nice shape. Why is it in a 2x2 and not a capsule? I want one!

Thanks I do appreciate the attribution what would you grade mine?
The reason I ask....when I first seen this coin it was on a sheet of 20 other hammered coins.... this stood out like a super nova over everything else that was on the page....not that the other coins were bad or not nice .
It was like your eyes were drawn right to it....thanks again

I had been focusing almost exclusively on raw coins for my type set and sold almost all my graded pieces to fund it, but I’ve always wanted a slabbed MS IHC and when this came up I had to go after it. Have to give credit to @C-B-D as he gave me a fair price on a coin with really outstanding eye appeal IMO. Worth every penny and one of the highlights of my modest collection.

I can confirm that the picture of that medal does it no justice. I only let that one go to Paddy because I had another absolute beauty (mine below). It is now in an NGC 67 holder. Paddy's is almost as nice as this one. Very hard to get good pix of these though.
