Depends on the grade. Generally not using PCGS/NGC costs your more in retail value than you save on submission fees for high value coins
There's no need to delete the thread. The topic of authenticity arises because people often post things on here thinking they have something when they actually don't. Yours looks like the real thing but there's no way to authenticate it by those pics alone. Maybe these were counterfeited but I wouldn't think they'd be a good choice as over-dates are going to be more difficult to duplicate and will be under more scrutiny. These are rare but not necessarily that rare, in that condition. The mega red says most of these were released in NY City when they originally came out and many ended up in towns north of NYC.
I've never even heard of a 1942/1 Mercury Dime that graded MS69. That coin would be worth close to $250K.
That was directed towards a poster asking about modern mint products. I even quoted their question: I answered the original question on the first page. I wouldn’t be talking about MS 69 1942/1 Mercury Dimes.
I think it looks good to me. Fine or so. I’d try to find someone to piggyback in an economy submission to pcgs. That way you can probably get it done for $30 or less. Can’t tell about the rim or if it’s been cleaned with those pics in a straight grade it’s a $400 coin
