It looks more like a strikethrough to me. I saw this quite a lot when I was searching that $50 bag of 1980 Lincolns. Grease and debris are compacted in the recesses of the die and fall out only to be struck into the next incoming planchet. Note the irregular shape near the bottom half of the anomaly. Chris
That's actually the main reason I was asking, because I couldn't tell if it was more of a lamination or strike through.
It will if that part of the debris that fell onto the planchet is thin. That is why I mentioned the area at the bottom half of it. I still think that it is a strikethrough. Chris
