Hey there yall!! My names Jim and Ive collected on and off my whole life but have recently switched back "on" and have really enjoyed the coin roll hunting and variety searching aspect of the hobby as of late. So with that said, I go to a bank the other day that I just happened to be passing in my travels and was really excited to find they had nearly $250 in halfs and a few rolls of Ike's on top of that!!! So i say Ill take them all and damn near started drooling when the teller came back with them as 2 of the groups looked to have some real age. I immediately had visions of walkers and franklins dancing in my head..lol.. There were 3 different type rolls, with a pretty even mix. Roughly 12 of each type. Now my question is this. I added a pic to show the 3 types of rolls. Which ones would YOU have thought would be the best? The Lawrence stamped, the generic old, or the white paper homemade? Well ill tell ya. The older looking ones were skunk!!!! The nice new homemade ones produced 60 40%ers!!!! Ive had mixed results with the little hunting Ive done in the past, but this just goes to show ya, you cant judge a coin by its wrapper...lol..(book by its cover)...hope to have more posts in the future!!! Thanks!!!
Welcome back to CT. Nice find. Don't be fooled by the wrapping. You can't judge a book by its cover. Why would a paper wrapped roll of coins be different? Good for thought.
Very good! I gave up half hunting some time ago. Perhaps it's time to take another crack at it. I already have too many NIFC's though. I'd gladly trade them for even 40%ers.
Welcome back Jim I think personally the roll in the middle because in my crh today I found wheaties dating almost in the teens ( the same type of wrap )
