Purchased at my LCS just like my first ancient. All I'm aware of is it is Persian most likely and I con't read hieroglyphics. Comments and Questions welcome! 10mm and .9 grams. Very small

See if you can get better images. Awfully dark photos. Is that a horse on there?

I don't think the Persians used hieroglyphics :wacky:

Take your coins out of the 2x2 holders and use better lighting for clearer pictures :snaphappy:

I don't recognize the coin, but it is saying "India" to me. Reverse in Nagari maybe?

Maybe one from Mysore? I won't say yes, but perhaps a possibility. I suggest you make as good of a drawing as you can of what you see for the side you say is Hieroglyphics and photo it and show us.

You've picked yourself up a couple of cool first ancient coins there @CoinBlazer !

Severus Alexander nailed it, Nagas from India, about 4th century. I have a couple of these, the think was is a half kakini and the thick one is a kakini.

Can I get a link to a standard reference or infopage? Something?

I really don't know of any to be honest! I think most of these have Mitchner as a reference if that is what you mean. You can get some basic info on similar coin at vcoins, go there and search for "Nagas" and you'll see several with their attributions.

A bit dark but nice and clear. A little light and a photo would be nice. Congrats @CoinBlazer.
