Entry Post - Thanks to lordmarcovan and young numismatist Noah Finney for their generosity and a happy belated birthday to our giveaway organizer - my choice of silver bullion coins is the 2019 American Silver Eagle - my oldest dated coin is a worn down 1795 Mexico City minted 8 Reales with chop marks (224 years of globetrotting history ;))

    3) I will go dependable with the 2019 SAE.

    4) My oldest coin is an 1803 cent that looks like a sponge.

    ENTRY POST

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Silver Choice: Krugerrand or Somalia Elephant

Fun thing ( for me ) I have been wanting to own some gold for a long while it is has been ( and still is ) out of reach for me to splurge on a 1oz or even 1/2oz coin. Finally this year my wife got me some American gold, my first gold, for father's day! A 1986 ( my birth year ) 1/10oz American Gold Eagle graded MS69! Obviously I was and am still stoked and it is a prize in my collection.

Oldest Coin: My great-grandmother was a volunteer at ANACS shows for years until her age wouldn't allow it anymore. She gave me an 1864 Indian head Cent. I love this coming because of the age and history behind it, but even more than that all of the questions that it stirs up: who owned it before me? Did Abe Lincoln carry this in his pocket? General Grant? How many states has it visited? How many cash drawers? Collections?

    Thank you!
    Rob.

Here's one of my Edward I coins. I'm sure I have some actual dates stuff from the 1600s. Old Spanish coins or something.

Ah, but ancients and medievals don't count. I know there were dated ancients (I bought one this morning), but for purposes of this contest, we're talking about the post-1500 dated stuff. If your oldest post-1500 dated coin is from after 1757, you're still eligible in the halfpenny drawing.

PS- LOL @ that GIF animation! :cat::p

Not so much in person, perhaps.

Edward VII supposedly started the fashion for leaving one coat button undone, because he was so fat. I can totally relate, being too fat myself to see my bottom button, or anything else below the equator.

Don't know who your Thanos character is.

i never knew that he was a very large man. also, thanos is the main villian in the marvel universe (by main i mean that he is a common enemy of all the marvel characters) he prefers perfect balance and to achieve that, he wants to wipe out half of the universe. he collected all five infinity stones(very important to know about those) which gave him the power to wipe out half of the universe with a single snap

entry post. My choice, if winning a silver coin, would be the Somali elephant. - Very generous of Noah to donate a coin from his selection. But, without being 2 greedy, shouldn't it be 2 coins on offer ? Although lacking in Biblical expertise, I believe the story tells us that the coins came rolling in 2 by 2 !!! - One of my oldest coins is from Carthage (After 1757 !). - P.S. I've got my parent's permission to play ! ;) ;)

Entry Post! Krugerrand. The oldest numismatic item I own is not a coin, but a French jeton from Nantes, dated 1783. IMG_20190103_183104362.jpg IMG_20190103_182915596.jpg
Upon doing a bit of research, apparently the mayor of Nantes Jean Jacques Berrouette had these silver jetons struck and dispensed them as payments.
