Just a question. Does this penny looked to be toned?

Yeah. Is there any value there

Looks like it was heavily worn, and THEN spent a lot of time in perhaps an album or a 2x2 envelope.

Definitely heavily worn, But I still suspect a cleaning/polished.
Really not worth much over face value. 3-5 cents.

    Yes, it's toned.
    It's brown and that's toning.

That coin would look good in any collection. Nice find.

I would put that one in a 2X2! Nice '29 if found in circulation.

Yes...the bluish cast seen on both sides is toning from some kind of paper stock, either an album or a flip. Purty well worn there, Pardner. NGC lists VG8 @ 20 cents...F12 @ 27 cents if grading was liberal...Its better than G4...Spark

@bowers1982 although I already have a couple of these, I'll take it off your hands for 55¢ including postage. BTW, saw on the news that the price of a stamp goes up 5¢ soon, so it's time to buy your Forever stamps in quantity before the hike.

I prefer to buy "Eventually" stamps.

My wife buys 10 "books" at a time... that's 200 stamps. She goes thru these quickly enough—they'll be gone within 6 months. She'll be saving $10 over that period, but I've encouraged her to buy at least double that many.

As for myself, I use four stamps per year, all of which I get from my wife; one to mail in my property taxes, saving the fee the city charges if I choose to pay online with a credit card, the other three to mail in rebate forms for my dogs' flea-tick-worm medicine. I just took two of the three to the vet, the cost of their meds being, $385.26 including taxes. The rebates amount to $75 per dog, reducing the cost significantly—and well worth the cost of the stamps.

Every fourth year, I use two extra stamps, one to renew my driver's license, the other to renew the plates on my two cars.

I expect that the cost of postage will increase even more, costing you as much as $1.00 sooner than one might expect. If my wife gets 40 books of stamps, we might have enough to last a couple years...with immense savings!

Yep, and I get a lot of mail with multiple older stamps too.

I have been collecting stamps as long as I have collected coins. I'm in the same boat. I have to try to use up all the extras I have. And, I am an "ex stamp collector". I quit in 2000. The USPS was putting out so many stamps every year. It was like collecting wall paper.

So what's wrong with collecting wallpaper?
