Got this one after Christmas and before the New Year... Others (Kennedy half dollars) are still in the mail...
First coin of the new year. I already have an NGC AU53 example of this variety, but I really like the color here as it fits well with my set. Seller pics so I will see how it is in hand. 25c 1834 O/F (variety not listed on slab) PCGS AU53
Picked these up in a small 4 coin lot on eBay. Some better dates in problematic condition but will fill a couplele holes in my son's type book. I particularly like the 1888 V nickel.
1934 Green Bay, Wis., Wisconsin Tercentennial, Jean Nicolet, Bronze 37mm Unc. A bronze medal commemorating the 300th anniversary of the coming of the first white man to Green Bay, Wisconsin, 1634 - 1934.
I just couldn't pass that one up. I'm a sucker for nice early Lincolns. One goal is to put together a MS 66/67 Lincoln year set. We'll see how far that goes. There are a few tough dates.
I just had to get this one: United States half dollar 1937 - Roanoke Island Colony, North Carolina "The Lost Colony" coin starred Errol Flynn as Sir Walter Raleigh and Olivia De Havilland as Ellinor Dare?
Endeavor, Just an honest inquiry, why does anyone TPG such a coin? Why buy a G6 and give away 20$ instead of just going for a VG10? Almost every Barber I have is similar grade. I would never spend as much on a TPG as a the coin is worth. I'm still looking for the right 92-O BTW. It's pretty hard to find in a 6-8 for a fair price.
I don't know. Perhaps the person that submitted it for grading was just wanting a grade with no regard to value. I purchased it already graded.
