New Mexico Error quarter?

I have been holding on to this guy for awhile. I can not find any info about it or similar error coins. I'm wondering if it is worth anything? Most of the design on the back is missing and its thicker than a regular quarter. It also has a slightly smaller circumference. Like it wasn't pressed completely and a smooth edge. Any and all advice is welcome. I'd like to sell it if possible.

yup, someone was gonna try an make a ring..

 

they keep tapping around the coins edge making it wider an wider, then drill out center to make a ring...

you will have to exchange it at a bank because that will no longer fit into a vending machine
