This one was the first coin I photo'd this year, Thought I'd share it. Came out of a set that had a few Target Toners. The coin for the most part conveys a much different look, more like this. This is still under lit but shows some more of the orange red perimeter. Happy New Year!
First, welcome to the neighborhood, Lucas! There can be any number of causes for such toning, but many coins, particularly proof coins, are affected in such a way by environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. Chris
To help out on this one. This was part of Proof set until I opened it. All the coins have a rich tone to them. It is not unusual for the plastics to also off gas and help create the toning. Toning will always boil down the storage conditions.
I was unable to get a better photo of this Kennedy. This one taken at a later date doesn't catch the color any better in fact I think it is worse. This one helps show the tone one the reverse better.
