Yeah the r in liberty and the y in liberty . Also the word trust and we . I also see something on his head
The only thing I see on his head is hair. Obverse has alot of circulation wear as well as reverse. Reverse may have some die cracks off bottom of sheaves towards the rim but hard to tell from pics. More focused and cropped pics would help but not necessary still just a cent. You may want to look for signs of a die clash I believe this year had some.
Thanks, Jman. The R and Y in LIBERTY are just damage where something hit them. I don't see anything odd about the words TRUST and WE. I see a gouge on his cheek that is just damage, and there's a line running from his eye to his hairline that I believe is a scratch. I think that everything I'm seeing is just damage, however there are some members who are far more experienced with these items than I am. Just hang out and someone else will take a look. Thanks for posting and Welcome to Coin Talk !!
Not trying to be rude, but whoever told you that doesn't know parts of his anatomy from a hole in the ground. It is worth about 2-3 cents, which is the going rate for a common wheat cent. As others have posted, the R and Y took a hit and are damaged. I can't see anything unusual with the WE and TRUST other than some rim damage. See if the person who said it was worth $2500 is willing to buy it. Tell him you'll sell it to him at a bargain rate of 99% off and you'll still make a killing
Just a cranky old cent. Did you find this in a parking lot? $2500? Another person just motivated by greed.
This coin is damaged on both sides. It spent some time in a parking lot. Worth a cent and not a penny more.
If someone paid $3000 for that coin send them my way. I have some like the I'd part with for that kn of cash
Yeah, I have some in better condition and I'll take a little less than the offer price. I'm not greedy.
