I have a 1971D Quarter that seems to have a crooked S right after the word Unum. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
It may have been counter stamped by a bar or casino to keep track of the owners coins. Years ago they painted coins that the bar tender would give patrons for the jukebox. Just an option for thought.
People I know do this sort of thing all the time, but it is usually more interesting than a single S. That is a 1/16th inch letter from a set of letter punches.
