The 1989 commemorative you received is one of my favorites. I have tried to limit my collecting of commemoratives to ones that I really like the design, or ones that have special meaning for me.

Can you clarify? Did you get and/or send a gift? Did you sign up?

Ok guys I'm back home and had a chance to take some photos of my gift.

First up, my Santa got me a 2015P Dime WDDR-002 ANACS MS66 FSB

I wasn't familiar with this variety, so I looked it up. The WDDR-002 is a variety with leaf doubling where it overlays the torch. I was able to spot it with the naked eye. Apparently there are even a few varieties of the doubling of this leaf. A nice example of an interesting variety I didn't know about before.

Santa also got me a 1996P Half Dollar with a nice obverse die crack going from the neck to the rim, and some strong clashing on the neck and cheek (I wasn't quite able to capture it here but it's very nice). My Santa must know that I have a side set for coins with interesting strong clashes and die cracks.

Santa also got me a 2016P Nickel with one of the most humorous clashes I've seen on a coin.

This is the best I can do with my cell phone, but Jefferson's eyes are very strongly clashed with the base of Monticello. In hand it's quite striking to see. I love it.

And if that wasn't already enough, my generous Santa also gave me a Korean 2017 1 Clay Zi Sin Gallus 1oz silver round, because who doesn't love silver.

I did some reading on this - the Zi Sin Gallus is a Zodiac sign, and this is the first produced in the series. I love the design and will most likely keep up with this set as the others come out. Turns out the name "Clay" was selected for the denomination to evoke feelings of earthiness, grounding, malleability. Very interesting! Thank you Santa!

Just a note, mention if it be, for a fine fellow who sent me something that arrived Christmas Eve. He wasn't a Secret Santa, just an honest friend sending a most generous and thoughtful gift. I thought it appropriate to post what I received in this thread.......heck, it wouldn't be appreciated in any of the other forums, threads, or what not (so many kind and generous people here who can understand the true meaning of 'giving').

He knows the establishment regarding my religion, and he respects that aspect. He is a true friend. My wife is exuberant over this gift.......she loves ancients.

Along with that, my friend also included these coins.........

Kiss that wife and your beautiful children Brother as you are among the most sensitive and regarding fellows that I know. And this all arrived on the 'Eve'.

Happy Christmas, my friends, as we still reside in the season, and a Blessed and Amiable New Year for all..........

Carried my SS gifts to my daughter's house where we had Christmas Dinner and opened presents. Everyone enjoyed them (but myself most).

First: Birth year set (1945) and a coin handling tool

And then: A unique slabbed coin and an interesting Swedish set

Sorry Santa, I've been much busier than I expected after Christmas. I should have time to photograph and display my much appreciated gift sometime tomorrow. :)

Secret Santa showed up today :woot:! The generosity of CT members never surprises me anymore, but I was really thrilled with what I received. I’m sick as a dog right now, so I’m going to take this handmade pottery cup and make myself a nice hot toddy. I’ll post better images as soon as possible. Thank you so much Santa, I love it. 7602F7AE-14C3-4128-8F0B-790849E82654.jpeg

Kirk? I normally prescribe 'scotch' but in your case you need a major dose of Tennessee whiskey........Danial (Jack) may be his name......
