No problem with me Books, I will leave it open for Doug or Peter to evaluate. They can see from the records the editing I did and do what they would have done. Exactly how would you edited context out , what word besides "Edited" would you use? Just cut it out and have you complain that your speech or others had been altered? Seriously : Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, whichever is more acceptable to you. Jim

Sorry, but the Kiddo got exactly what he wanted. If you think about it? What you did by feeding his ego, accumulated with his ignorance of the facts are exactly what you posted above.
Maybe you can think about that next time you feed someone who is trying tear down what we around here know as Knowledge. You gave a false reality. Tell me what about your completely misinformed post benefitted the poster?

No he didn't Books, he did his job by pointing out the things that members should not be doing, nothing more and nothing less.

Nice deflection, Jim. I couldn't care less that you edited posts and you know it. The problem is that you did so first and only THEN decided to make your foolish, baseless, and infinitely personal accusation, which is exactly what it was regardless of your intent. Context matters.

How about we turn this around and see if, perhaps, you can acknowledge what should be rather obvious. Let's say I had the power to edit your posts and only after doing so decided to accuse you of something equally as vile, perhaps of racism. Of course anyone reading what remains of the posts would find no real evidence of it, yet the editing, often emphasized in RED, would be highly suggestive that something so uncouth was indeed said and later removed. After all, it's not like any reasonable person would leave such vileness for all to see and neither would you. Would you be kosher with that, or maybe, just maybe you'd be a little pissed and rightfully so? It's not what Doug or Peter can see but what everyone else can.

You easily could have done your job and got the same point across without stooping to a level much, much lower than what actually took place sir. It's really that simple.

So you're okay with your mods, regardless of intent, needlessly smearing members as being sexist? Sorry, but ithat sense of reason, fairness, and objectivity you so pride yourself on suggests otherwise.

Of course you too wholly avoided the actual issue, which is the same could have easily been accomplished without the blatantly personal attack and hypocrisy. Still, it's good to know that, based upon your own claims of equal treatment member or mod, everyone can now smear each other as sexists, racists, bigots, or whatever other purely convenient and baseless black eye comes to mind. A fine, fine precedent, sir. Of course we both know you wouldn't be so quick to defend such vileness if coming from a mere member and sure as hell wouldn't tolerate it. Hell, even Jim would jump right on it and rightfully so.

It's your forum and choice to hold your mods to a higher standard than the membership or to one lower. One can only hope you'll choose the former.

Yes, books I edited first because that was the post that was reported by another and continued down the thread to the end where I posted myself. That is the logical, clean it up from the first post before someone else reads it and comments at the end before I could end it. The before text as well as the edited text is there for moderators and admins to see and evaluate whether I did what was required or not. It has been mentioned before by admin that editing after posting does stay with the post. Books I do hope, if you catch me making a similar remark as I removed, you report me as you should.

They ( Doug , Peter, and mods) can see exactly what I saw before editing, Its in a history file once a member hits reply, I can't change it without it recording my changes..........so how do you figure I can alter without it being there? No, I can not change the history file!! Ghosts in the Machine????? Jim

At first, I honestly didn’t see what the big deal was and was wondering why you were so heated. It’s clear now, and as such, I’m in agreement. I believe it was wrong of @desertgem to throw out a string of words that people need to stop being, which included sexism. Having read every comment before they were edited, I will say I didn’t see a lick of evidence of any person being sexist. Now that the posts have been edited, no one who comes across this page can know for what reason they were edited, and are thus given little other recourse than to assume that texts were edited because they were that list of things Jim used, which included sexist. I think you ought to go back and remove that post and offer an added clarification that there were no sexist comments. If you believe that any comments were sexist, I believe you should have to show that. As a moderator, you should not have so casually tossed out a word like that. I consider it a small mistake, perhaps a lapse of judgment, but now that it has been pointed out to you, I would consider it rather egregious if you failed to correct the record. I too, was part of that body of text in which you accused members of being sexist, and I am not okay with the actions you took, or the attack on my character.

Still waiting for you to clarify either where you found sexist comments, or that they did not exist on this thread as you implied.

Hi @tammiGee I’m still waiting on you to show me a single comment I have said that is inappropriate for children. I would hate to think you were just angry and saying a bunch of spiteful things that aren’t true. Imagine the poor example that would set for your children. I’d be happy to show you a few you have made that I don’t think are appropriate for children.

I think that the mods have to use a wide view lens when they have to answer a reported thread. I doubt that @desertgem intended to include just you @Seattlite86 and @BooksB4Coins and not give the same intention towards @tammiGee.
It' is quite funny sometimes how terminology has become correct or blatantly incorrect, But is accepted as completely OK.
It only sucks for the one that reads to much into it.

Don't worry from me, I thought the only sexist comments came from the one who reported it.
A pretty low blow if you ask me.

He’s no longer a member of CT. Surprise. I think he was a previously banned member.

I appreciate the thoughts. He did say the sexist comments came from both sides. He shouldn’t have so casually made such a statement. I am still waiting for @desertgem to clarify his comments or edit them. Perhaps @GDJMSP could take a deeper look at why @BooksB4Coins and I are upset before rushing to the defense of another moderator. I don’t expect perfection from the mods, but it’s rather annoying that they refuse to admit when they’ve made a mistake.

It's not a matter of the mods refusing to admit they made a mistake. But rather what you and others may interpret as being a mistake. In other words, what you see as a mistake, I do not. I see it as having been done correctly.

Nyatii I like running w/scissors. Makes me feel dangerous

I'm not sure of the CT mechanics, however, maybe it would be best to critique the comments thru private conversations with those making them, and just post *Edited* on the general forum with "Consult CT Rules".

@GDJMSP if you truly feel this was corrrectly stated, then I would like you to show me where the sexist comments came from on my or @BooksB4Coins side. Show me where we were sexist and needed correction and I’ll offer an apology.

Edit: since all three of us were edited and Jim said we need to knock the sexism off from both sides, the only logical conclusion is that both sides were edited for sexist comments. Since they were edited without explanation, users are led to believe somewhere in there books and I wrote some hateful sexist comment.
