I eluded to this in another thread a couple of days ago and today I picked up my newest and unexpected collection item. Last Saturday I was looking at this fine coin on an auction site debating back and forth and deciding it was too rich for my blood at that time considering I had a max bid note on it from a couple of weeks ago before it went up for auction. I looked at the clock and it was time for me to go for it was the night of the company Christmas party. Oh what fun did I have as it was an open bar. So much fun I remember leaving to an after party, but not getting dropped off back at home I woke up slower than ever popping some ibuprofen and logging into the computer. Well, I am sure you know what I saw... a nice fat high bid for the coin. What coin did I buy? Spoiler So I am very sorry to the person who was the high bidder before me. Do not fear though as I paid dearly for this, possibly due to karma, as the 12% buyer fee and lovely 8% California tax that was tacked on top added quite a bit to the final bid. Moral of the story, if going to drink until you blackout, don't keep auctions up on the computer .
No idea what price you paid.... but the moral of the story is an important lesson for some of us. This could be a happy story or a sad story.... but at least you appear to have gotten quite an attractive coin out of it!

Being from Texas, I love that coin, and would really like to get one. I've bid on them many times, but, like a very small fish in a very large pond, my money is insignificant compared to what it takes to get one. GLC- Great Looking Coin !
