Im thinking about purchasing this from a decent seller but they aren't sure if its genuine. I checked the FORVM fake reports and didn't come across this( but that doesn't mean much)

I wanted to ask the experts on here what they thought so far.

maybe antony revs-l1600.jpg maybe antony obvs-l1600.jpg

Im going to find out the weigh and diameter soon.

My gut says its not cast but is there a chance it could be a pressed fake/forgery?

Pass. Seems you ask about questionable coins a lot. Why not just buy from reputable dealers?

If a seller isn't sure if it's fake then I would pass. Too good to be true...except that one isn't very good looking

It looks fake to me, I've seen a lot of these and this one seems a bit different to the usual, there doesn't seem enough room between standards and the circles seem small and the galley looks completely different to what I am used to seeing, also eagles head seems strange. I'm no expert without it's weight and not having it in hand it is hard to tell but I would stay away from it.

I had a feeling about the standards too. They looked a little off to me. but I wasn't sure

It's the lettering that screamed "fake!" to me immediately when I saw it.

The style of the OP coin is wrong. It doesn't look to have been struck either. It looks like a cast, of a fake. And not a very good fake to begin with too.

Wildwinds or acsearch are good avenues to check style if you insist on buying from eBay. It's not foolproof, but it can still help eliminate the poor style fakes.

Curious, how much are they selling it for?

Though I don't collect ancients, I would say pass.

I was thinking that too, lord. Although it wasn't speckled like a cast fake

The lettering looks too rounded and the style is just off. I would not buy it.
