IKE Bicentennial Question.

Got this one and a handful of Presidential and Susan B's dollars from a guy trying to get bills for them at CVS the other day! I don't know much about them besides what I've read on identifying type one and two. This on appears to be in pretty good shape. So my question is, is it worth holding onto in this condition or any condition for that matter? This one is clearly a 40% clad type 2 with very nice reeding which I didn't get a pic of.

That's not a 40% silver Ike; it's a clad Ike.

Look at the edge of the coin and you'll see the
copper core.

Denver didn't mint 40% silver Ikes.

 

Fred that was my mistake, I knew this and was going to take the 40 % out of my post and forgot.

IMO, No, but I'm not an Ike fan.

 

If you like it, hold onto it. It is in decent shape and worth a few bucks more than face. It's a type 2 reverse, btw.

 

Looks decent and it will probably be tough to find a nicer one in circulation. I would recommend keeping it. Never going to have much additional value but still a nice coin

 

Thanks @dchjr ! It moved the rest of my post to the bottom of my pics.(not sure why it does this). I did do some research and got that part rite on the type 2 lol.
