A coin dealer offered me this Isabella quarter, but I really don't have a good idea of what the grade would be or what would be a fair price. I know it is still in the 2x2, but I would sincerely appreciate it if members could give me an idea of the grade and what would be a fair price. I'm not trying to gouge the guy, but I don't want to pay more than I should.
1961 Corgi? Rex only kept that small bust design for the first couple of years, some of them are relatively valuable.
Looking of ebay, I see better coins and worser (sp) coins. Also the prices seem to be all over the place.
I'm kind of surprised, but since considering this one, I have run into many people who had not heard of it. One person saw the Queen and asked me what country it was from!
The prices for them on eBay has always been all over the place. The price range that I put was based on my local show prices. I’ve been in the market for one for a while now, but they get really expensive in higher grades. It’s not a common piece.
The 1932 Washington Quarter was supposed to be a commemorative coin marking the 200th Anniversary of Washington's birth.
as above, a lot of wear and either dipped or cleaned or both. Numismedia lists retail prices in vg to f of 200-230 which frankly seems high to me particularly for one without original surfaces. My profile photo is an AU58 that was likely dipped and album retoned.
AU 58s are selling in the $250-$300 range on eBay. Even some MS 61-63 examples are going in the $290-$350 range (some do go for more, depending on eye appeal). Circulated and details examples (up to UNC details) have a wider range of $100-$200 on eBay.
He asked me for $175, but since he has had it a long time, I thought I would offer $150. Looks like the $175 is a good price though.
This is what Heritage lists on their site. I don't know much about grading these, but I would estimate F12. I don't think it's VF
Usually Heritage is a good resource for values, but that guide seems off-particularly on the Columbian 50c...$1-$1.40 for G4...that’s way under melt! Edit: melt is ~$5.34 as of this post on the Half Dollar. Edit2: a problem free circulated Isabella Quarter would also sell for more than the ones they have listed in the lower grades (even a problem coin would be above the $17-$23 range for G4).
