Ken Dorney Yea, I'm Cool That Way...

So as a dealer I get lots of individual coins, higher grade, rare, etc. But sometimes I get large lots of things of all grades. I love them all. But what I like about large groups is that they educate me. Often one comes across what seems to be incredibly strange designs (which may actually be common but I have not seen them before). They provide countless hours of fun, knowledge, education and history.

I know, the picture below is not as dramatic as Barry's pile of Roman gold, but honestly they excite me just as much. So much to learn... This is just a small portion of what came in: IMG_6108.jpg

Bronze or gold, don't matter, would still be fun to go through.

1000 coins? It is hard to tell how deep is a pile. I agree they would be a lot of fun sorting but I also see coins that will be easier to sell than others. I have no business sense so I have no idea whether such a group would be a wise more or just fun.

It’s a beautiful group of coins—the different sizes, colors, and shapes. Also the different periods of history that they represent.

Over 500 years of the Byzantine empire, or close to it. Fun Ken.

I would love to spend the time attributing that pile, even at the risk (well, maybe certainty) of annoying my better half.

Wow! What a great looking pile of coins! That would be a lot of fun to sift through.
