    = Early American Coppers.

A group of specialist folks who collect and deal in early large cents and other coppers. They're a scholarly bunch with insanely tight grading standards and lots of expert conservation tricks up their sleeves.

Very deep, very intense folks, from what I've seen. I like to poke gentle fun at them for some of their quirks (their crazy-conservative grading and slab aversion, for example), but I also deeply respect their knowledge and dedication.

For example, this coin would only grade AG3 by EAC standards.

(Haha- OK, no, I'm kidding- but they are super-strict graders with their own set of standards.)

I don't really sell much but I did let this one go just last week and it was tough. It's definitely the most lustrous I've ever seen in this series and honestly maybe in general. It's just gorgeous but it was a double and I have coins on my wantlist so was time to move it on and the new owner is happy with it now.

The education will pay a lot more dividends than the coins ever could. Good choice.

It helps that I bought them to resell, but they were still cool coins.

I sold off most of my Bust dime collection but saved a few that are special. They will go to my son.
Next year I start researching my collection of Seated half dimes and Seated dimes for sale.
I should have started this 20 years ago but could not bring myself to get started.
