Definitely one of the most impressive starts to a collection I've ever seen, congrats on a stunning year! (I think the Imperator contest helped it along a little, no? ) The Pyrrhos in particular is fantastic. Beautiful coin, with a very clear name! But but... what about Antigonos the One-Eyed? Surely one of the most intimidating generals ever, lookswise and also he was undefeated until his final (terminal) battle! I would say probably. He had at least four kids plus (surely) some illegitimate ones, and many of them had kids... going back that far the probability that you are a descendant is very high. My modest Pyrrhos:
From the choices you've made in only half a year, there's no doubt you will end being a great numismatist and collector in a few years Congrats Q
Thank you TIF, but they are nothing compared to your amazing collection Thank you very much. I agree, it is a matter of personal opinion. Thank you John, I look forward seeing your top coins of 2018. Thank you! Thank you, king Aethelred Hmm. Who knows I had 0.01% numismatic knowledge, now it is 0.04% but yes technically it is but you know what I mean Thank you David Atherton. Thank you Mike Margolis, you got great coins and I am eager to see your top coins of the year! Thank you, I appreciate your words. Hmm, the Imperator contest helped me motivate to read and search background information about the coins but it did not necessarily make me buy these coins for the Imperator contest if you mean that. Yes Antigonos the One-Eyed is definitely a great general but I know a better one-eyed king, his name is Philip II Great Pyrrhos coin by the way, oh wait I just remembered I was bidding against you for that coin hmm... You were lucky I was above my budget for some other coins Thank you for your words Cucumbor, I really enjoyed your coins the past half year.
I find the first coin with Perseus in the Phrygian cap to be really intriguing and attractive. A remarkable beginning.
