    Picked this up at a show today. Normally, I don't care too much for laminations, but this one really stood out. The small lamination covers the entire full date and mintmark! Not only that, the retained piece is with it, with the date incused on the other side!. Should I submit this to slab it??? (I am leaning with a"no.") Paid $40. Not sure if that is a good price or not but didn't care as this is a neat Mint error and never saw one like this.

    I've seen an example like yours but it was slabbed in 2 seperate slabs. One for the Cent and one for the fragment..
    Nice. Thanks for showing us

    I would submit it!

    Yeah it would be pretty cool if it was a Wheatie. As for grading it’s up to you, I have seen PCGS has a two part slab where they slab the coin and the fragment separately.

    Most likely.. Do you submit at coin shows or you send them to NGC or any other TPG?

    I live in Buffalo. All I ever see is ANACS. Normally I jump on people who are submitting to save on shipping if i want something sent to PCGS or NGC..

    @JCro57
    I once saw a slabbed Cent with a nice Die Break and the actual piece that broke off the Die. It was found in a Mint Sewn bag!
    Both slabbed separately.

    I am hoping they can put into all one slab

    I think they cant. The Cent will be held with prongs and the piece is put into a slab with what looks like a cointainer. It just kind of floats inside. No way of putting both together.

    Mine fit nicely into two 2x2's. Total cost: about 15 cents ;) Not need for all that plastic mumbo jumbo.
